Obviously a big part of cruising is food! The best cruises have many options and many tastes to choose from and Symphony of the Seas fits that description to a T. The options seem almost endless, with a variety that will satisfy the most picky eaters in your group.

Dining Options - Royal Caribbean Symphony of the Seas

As you can see, there are plenty of options. Some of which are included in your cruise fare, and others have a small cover charge above your cruise fare to visit. We will discuss the complimentary options first, then explore the options with extra costs.

The first one is the most commonly visited on a cruise ship, the buffet!

For Royal Caribbean, the buffet on every ship is the iconic Windjammer.

On an Oasis class ship, the buffet is beyond belief, with so many options, tastes and sections that you almost get lost exploring.

The Windjammer is perfect for groups with many different likes or dislikes since everyone gets their own choices. Not only are the typical buffet options available, but many "action stations" are available for items such as omelets, carving stations, and other specialty items. Items from different parts of the world are found, from Indian food to Chinese.

When you visit specific ports, the chefs add some items to repesent local cuisine to enhance your travel experiences.

And obviously don't forget the dessert station!

The second most recognized dining location on a cruise ship is the main dining room. This is a more traditional and elegant eating establishment with assigned tables, a varying menu and direct service by the wonderful wait staff. The menu varies each night, but also offers some regular items for those comfort foods. As at the buffet, some menus are adjusted to reflect the cuisine of the ports you visit while on your trip. Don't be afraid to try anything on the menu. If you don't like it, you can order something else. Or better yet order TWO entree's and try them all!

Many other complimentary food venues are located all over the ship. These tend to be casual, grab-it-quick places to fill a craving and keep going with the fun.

El Loco Fresh is the Mexican food venue with quick bites of nachos, tacos, quesadillas and burritos. Don't forget the salsa bar to grab your guac!

Cafe Promenade is the best place to grab your morning coffee. Some coffee items have a cost, but fresh brewed coffee and tea are included. Also included are different pastry and snack options in the display cabinet. These are really nice to grab and take back to your cabin for a snack later on. The choices change during the day from breakfast to lunch. Some come explore through the day to make sure you don't miss anything. And don't forget the cookies!!

Just across from Cafe Promenade is Sorrento's. Another iconic venue on Royal Carribbean. Either by the slice or pie, the pizza fills those cravings for a quick bite or a midnight snack. The smells when walking by are irresistible!

In Central Park, visit the Park Cafe for a quick grab-n-go snack from the display or have a simple lunch. This is the place to visit for breakfast as well, since it is much quieter most of the time. Sitting outside and enjoying the greenery and listening to the birds with your fresh cup of coffee is very relaxing. Don't forget to grab your Kummelweck sandwich at lunch, a stable for Park Cafe!

If you are out on the Boardwalk enjoying the view aft, stop and grab a quick custom Chicago type hot dog from the Boardwalk Dog House. It's a great grab to snack on while walking around taking in the views.

Heading forward, you will find the Solarium Bistro. This is a small venue that most people miss at first. Fresh, healthier options can be found here and it is far less crowded than other locations. Lunch here sitting in the Solarium is very peaceful and relaxing.

There also are many pay-to-play dining options on Symphony of the Seas with many varieties of food to please any palate. These typically cost a small fee per person that allows you to enjoy anything on the menu. Be sure and buy the dining package if you would like to try different venues. If you buy it before you get on board, you will save some money!

150 Central Park is a wonderful resturant that has a varied menu from seafood to braised short rib. Located in Central Park, it is a great place to dress up and make a night of it on a formal night. You have to try the garlic bread and the cucumber martini!

Chops Grill is the iconic steak house that you find on almost all Royal Caribbean ships. Classic decor and dining with all of your typical cuts of steaks. Also located on Central Park, this will satisfy the carnivores in your group for sure!

If you like seafood, from oysters to sea bass, Hooked may be your choice. There are often nights seafood options in other venues with lobster or shrimp cocktail, but hooked is the most diverse and fresh options in a nice setting. Browse the fresh seafood bar and make your choice!

If you are having a craving for sushi or teppanyaki, don't skip on Izumi. Fresh made sushi, sashimi and more. You can buy the dining package or pay ala carte. On the other side the teppanyaki table is super fun as they cook the food right in front of you, and it's good too! The kids have so much fun with the show.

Back in Central Park, the Italian venue Jamies Italian serves up classic pasta fare, with a varied menu as well. The Charcuterie board is amazing, and some say the Filet Mignon is the best on the ship!

Johnny Rockets is the classic diner experience. Shakes, burgers and crinkle fries. You can find this restaurant on the Boardwalk just before the AquaTheatre. Many don't know that although lunch and dinner fall under the specialty dining cost, breakfast is free!

Worried about missing the game? Need some shuffleboard table time? Or just want some classic bar food and drinks. Playmakers is a paid venue with so many TV's you can't watch them all and the true sports bar atmosphere.

Wonderland is a recent addition to Royal Caribbean that plays on the Alice in Wonderland theme. With exotic drinks and eclectic menus, there is no other experience on a cruise ship as imaginative as this dining options. Will you choose the blue pill or the red pill?

If you are in a grand suite or above you can enjoy the Costal Kitchen for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you are in a junior suite or a Pinnacle member, you can enjoy this option for dinners. The menu here is specially designed for upscale dining with exquisite entrees to go along with top notch service.

Finally, if you aren't full after all of these amazing dining options on Symphony of the Seas, don't forget to stop and get your all-you-can-eat soft serve ice cream!!

You will NEVER go hungry on Symphony of the Seas. There are so many options for dining for all types of cruisers. Pay a little more and open up even more variety and flavors. What was once simply a way to fill your belly to cruise around the world, dining on an Oasis class ship is now a journey in culinary experiences just as fulfilling as the wonderful ports and entertainment activities that keep that hunger growing!
