Royal Caribbean's Quantum of the Seas is the lead ship in the Quantum class. It has 16 decks and carries 4,180 guests at full occupancy. As with most of Royal Caribbean's larger ships, it is divided into sections, or neighborhoods, to give a different feel in different parts of the ship. There are some very unique offerings on the Quantum class that you may not see on other ships.

Quantum does have the familiar findings as seen on other ships such as the Royal Theatre, Casino Royale, Flowrider, Solarium, Rock climbing wall, Vitality Spa and Fitness Center.

Familiar dining and drinking venues are also onboard. This gives a nice feeling of familiarity and comfort knowing your favorite food and drink options are within reach. Such locations include the Windjammer buffet, Sorrento's, Cafe Promenade, Solarium Bistro, Izumi, Jamie's Italian, and Chops Grille. The Quantum ships also have a Costal Kitchen for that wonderful exclusive dining for Suite guests.

Looking for a drink? Head over to the tried and true bars to quench that thirst - Boleros, the Schooner Bar, Vintages, Pool Bar, Casino Bar, the English Pub, called Harp and Horn on Quantum, or the Bionic Bar to have the robots make your precise beverage.

Quantum of the Seas has many other options to quench your thirst as well. On the pool deck, the Pool Bar is located by the indoor pool. The outside pool is the location of the Sky Bar. Above that, one deck up, is the North Star Bar (more about the North Star later). You can find the Sunshine Bar in the Solarium at the front of the ship. In the aft of the ship is the unique area called Two70 where many different events are held, which also has a bar. And finally another area that hosts many events is called the Music Hall. As the name insinuates, musical features are held here along with many other fun attractions including trivia, karaoke and other creative activities. The Music Hall encompasses two decks and has a bar on each level!

Obviously you can't just survive on drinks for the entire cruise, although some people do try! To feed that hunger with a quick meal, or indulge in some high end cuisine, Quantum of the Seas has you covered with some unique options besides the tried and true ones discussed above. For the main dining room you have four options with different decor. On deck 3 is Chic or The Grande. On deck 4 you will find Silk and American Icon Grill. All have them have a standard menu, but each also has some unique choices you can try as well. The decor of each is as much of a feast for the eyes as the food is for the tummy!

Smaller snacks can be found at Cafe Two70 on deck 5, as it sounds it is located just outside the Two70 venue and is a great place to sneak in for your morning coffee if the Cafe Promenade is too busy. La Patisserie on deck 4 is another small snack shop with specialty pastries and coffees, some that may have a charge.

A holdover from Quantum's asian itineraries is the Noodle Shop. This venue has limited hours. They serve small snacks for free and some unique and tasty noodle dishes for a small charge on Deck 14.

The final hidden snack shack is the SeaPlex Dog House on deck 16 in the SeaPlex (more about that gem later on as well!)

Some truly unique finds on the Quantum class ships are amazing options to keep the entire family entertained. RipCord by iFLY allows you to get the adrenaline rush of skydiving without jumping out of a perfectly good airplane! You can suit up and jump into this vertical wind tunnel and literally float on air. It is located on deck 16 just in front of the FlowRider.

As mentioned previously, one of the iconic activities that instantly makes a Quantum class ship recognizable is the North Star. This giant crane arm lifts your gondola 300 feet above sea level to get the perfect panoramic view that no other cruise ship can give. When out to sea there is a slight charge, but your ride includes a swing all the way over the side of the ship above the water as you cruise along. If you take this ride while in port, it is a free option, but can only go up and down for port safety. The view is still stunning, especially in some of the particularly picturesque destinations that Royal Caribbean offers.

The final and best unique entertainment venue on Quantum of the Seas is the Sea Plex. There is nothing like this on any other cruise ship. It is a giant multi-level, multi-purpose complex that has all kinds of events and things to do to keep everyone in the family busy. And the great thing is, instead of the standard sports court that is exposed to the elements, this is completely enclosed and climate controlled. The center court is massive, and can be split into many different events such as laser tag, basketball, pickleball and other sports activities. It can also be combined into one giant floor where certain times of the day it changes into a one-of-a-kind bumper car arena while floating on the ocean! Talk about family fun for everyone! In the side nooks along the court both on the first and second level of the complex, are stashed many different fun options as well. Ping pong, X box, arcade games, comfortable seating to just hang out and much more! It is somewhere the kids could completely lose themselves for the entire day and come back exhausted.

As you can see, the Quantum of the Seas and her sister ships all offer some very familiar offerings that you will find across most of the Royal Caribbean line, but also has some very unique and exciting options to make your travels a non-stop adventure no matter if you are in port or at sea! Let us know if you would like us to arrange a marvelous vacation on one of these one-of-a-kind ships!
